  Chances are, that if you’re reading the reviews of this establishment you have a doubt as to whether they provide good service or not, because let’s be honest, getting braces is a pretty steep investment to find out if someone’s service is good or not. You’re smart and responsible with your money – let me try to help you, stay away from here. Quick review: terrible service, rude technicians, expensive, generally you feel like a source of income rather than a person. Let me first start by saying that Dr. Silverman’s practice REWARDS Starbucks gift cards to those who leave only positive reviews on google and other social media outlets (hence the single-sentence positive reviews.) Despite my deep love of coffee – I’m drinking some now while writing this – I’m forgoing my free coffee to warn you about Dr. Silverman’s service (that should say something!) Your first visit to Dr. Silverman’s office is reminiscent of a great first date: you’re brought in, told that you’ll be cared for, lulled into thinking that you’ll receive some personal rapport with the doctor and that, should any problems arise, you’ll be seen in a timely manner. Unfortunately, fair reviewees, this is not the case. On routine visits, you’ll be seen by the technicians and primarily them alone. The most Dr. Silverman does during a routine visit is give a nodding glance and say that things are going well – no talk, nothing. Despite some concerns from my dentist regarding the spacing of my teeth, Dr. Silverman continued to pass things off as being fine. It wasn’t until the end of my brace wearing period that I had to point out spacing concerns for the doctor to address them – which, unfortunately, makes me question whether or not he would have found them on his own. Additionally, finding Dr. Silverman at the office seems to be a rarity – I would have to wait long periods of time to be seen to repair a bracket or make small modifications because he was either on vacation or covering at another site. For his lack of character and interaction, there is the head technician, which is where the negative experience enters. She reminds one of a scornful third-grade teacher who hates her job and has to constantly demean and threaten her students. God forbid, if you have a question regarding your braces or the progress of your teeth, her answers are mainly framed in the response of a threat: “That will be outside your contract and we will not be reliable” (I think she meant liable) is the one answer that sticks out in my mind. Other than that, she is just very demeaning and most of her answers to your questions are made to insult your intelligence. Every question that you have seems like another unbearable inconvenience to her, and when you’re paying the sort of money for braces, you would think it would be acceptable to have a few questions answered. Keep in mind, you’ll be seeing a technician for 95% of the time you’re there. If this kind of patient/care-taker relationship is something that you do not value (who does?) I would advise going elsewhere. I have no personal dislike of Dr. Silverman or of his staff and am only writing this review to provide for you a more truthful account of what goes on at his clinic. As I have said, any incentives to write a review are for a positive review. My reason for giving this review is for a hope that you will not find yourself in the position I was in: spending thousands of dollars for terrible service and only going back to the doctor because you have spent so much already. I wish you luck in finding a better orthodontist with better service, and if they are good or bad, please review them so we can help each other find good people who are committed to their work and genuinely care about their patients.
