  Dr. Anderson seems like a capable orthodontist and was my first choice for orthodontic treatment in New Mexico. However, after investing both time and money with her, she refused to treat me because I have an out of state dentist. Recognizing that Dr. Anderson might be concerned about the quality of dental care I'm getting out of state, my dentist took the time to call her and assured her that any needed cleaning or other dental work could and would be taken care of promptly since I am in California every couple of weeks. This apparently carried no weight with Dr. Anderson. She still refused to treat me and insisted that I go to a dentist that she knows. This is puzzling... it's not like an orthodontist and a dentist need to work closely together, and even if they did need to communicate frequently, this is 2017... the telephone has been around for over 100 years and we also have a thing called e-mail. It sure seems like Dr. Anderson was very motivated to drum up business for one of her dentist friends which raises a lot of red flags and questions for me. I would've hoped she'd want me to get the best dental care possible (which certainly isn't in New Mexico!) as opposed to just seeing one of her friends. It sucked that I had to make a choice, but when push came to shove I kept the dentist.
